I hope you all are having an awesome Sunday!!! This past month has been a challenge for me… I mentioned on Facebook a couple of weeks back that my work schedule has changed, I switched from working at the end of the week to the beginning of the week. I didn’t think the transition would be so drastic, but I was WRONG!!! My days off are screwed up and most of my time is spent catching up on housework, running errands, and sleep. It feels so weird not being able to post, but I hope to get things back on track shortly… I thank you all for your patience and understanding with me!
Today, I want to share with you my top 5 favorite hair staples, these are the products I always keep in rotation!
Dark and Lovely Hydrating Soak Shampoo: I was really excited when I discovered Dark & Lovely Au Natural hair care line a while back. This shampoo is a part of the Anti-shrinkage collection and of all the products that I’ve tried, this is my absolute favorite. I was impressed by how well it lathered and it didn’t strip my hair of it’s natural oils. My hair was left feeling soft and moisturized!
Cantu Coconut Curl Cream: This product is my MUST HAVE!!! It provides my hair with instant moisture and defines my curl pattern. For me, this is the most versatile product in my cabinet, I use it as the foundation to all my styles (twist-outs, perm rods, goddess twist, etc.) and as my daily moisturizer if needed.
Cantu Twist and Lock Gel: I’ve had a difficult time finding a gel that could provide a good hold without causing flakes. I have low porosity hair and product build up is an issue for me, I needed to find a gel that would absorb well and not just sit on top of my hair. The consistency is a cross between a cream and custard; I really like that it doesn’t leave a sticky residue. I tried this on a twist out in combination with the Coconut Curl Cream (pictured above) and I was very pleased with the results, my hair was frizz free, soft and moisturized.
Castor Oil: The first time I used Castor oil, my hair felt so soft and moisturized. I’ve tried other oils, but nothing helps me to achieve moisture retention or sustains my styles longer than Castor oil. Plus, it’s perfect for Oil Rinsing, check out that post here!
Camille Rose Coconut Water Detangling Leave-In Conditioner: I actually received this product in one of my Essence’s Beauty Boxes (subscriptions have been discontinued). This leave-in conditioner works wonders during my detangling process. I can literally comb my hair from root to end once I’m finished. It’s light coconut smell goes great with the Cantu products, which is a plus for me… I have a fear of having stinky hair cause by using various products with different fragrances. Does anyone else feel this way?
